Dr. Kirby Thompson, ND, MSOM, LAc first became interested in Naturopathic Medicine when her father became ill with a debilitating diagnosis. He had to stop practicing medicine and was given a grave prognosis. At the advice of family in Mississippi, he soon started seeing a Naturopathic Doctor and within one year he was practicing medicine again. It was a miracle. I also had some health issues and went to the same Naturopathic Doctor and with time, the skin issues had resolved. I was amazed and thought, "I would LOVE to do that." So, I went to Naturopathic medical school. Right before I left for school, I learned about and fell in love with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture. These aspects of medicine were facinating and they worked too! I am so grateful to have my perspective changed and a new education I can use to help educate and empower others in health and wellness!

Dr. Kirby Thompson, ND, MSOM, LAc received undergraduate degrees from Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN in chemistry, biology, and education. She received a Master's degree in science education in 2004 from Piedmont College in Demorest, GA. Dr. Kirby Thompson has taught chemistry, biology, physical science, cellular biology, environmental biology and ecology since 1999. Dr. Thompson graduated with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from National University of Health Sciences in 2012 as valedictorian.

 

Dr. Thompson began practicing Naturopathic Medicine in Naperville, IL with an experienced Naturopathic colleague. While practicing in Naperville, she finished her degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at National University of Health Sciences. She graduated from Oriental medical school as Salutatorian. She became licensed to practice acupuncture and began practicing Naturopathic Medicine, Acupuncture, and Oriental Medicine at Wildflower Wellness, LLC in Hattiesburg, MS. 

 

Dr. Kirby Thompson has treated a wide variety of diseases and diagnoses both acute and chronic. Her experience has allowed her to learn about and assist patients of all ages. She continues to provide care for chronic and acute conditions in our practice today. Please inquire further about specific conditions and prognosis. 

 

Dr. Kirby Thompson's education and clinical experience have influenced the integrative approaches she employs to restore the human body to optimal wellness from physical, emotional and spiritual ailments. Dr. Thompson utilizes a variety of modalities including diet and nutritional counseling, functional medicine, genomic medicine, acupuncture, supplementation, botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, Bio-energetic screening (Asyra), hydrotherapy, and detoxification. Dr. Thompson believes the Therapeutic Order works and it is her experience that pathology and dysfunction can be resolved. The body can heal given the right stimulus. Becoming well is an ordered process that must be given time. 

 

Dr. Thompson has seen that it does not matter with what disease you have been diagnosed. The physiology, organs and organ systems must be identified. Once the body is supported through the therapeutic order, there can be resolution of that diseased state. Wellness is possible.

 

Not only is Dr. Kirby Thompson well-versed in body physiology and processes, her experience in education allows her to explain concepts to patients making them understandable to all ages. She enjoys speaking and lecturing to a variety of audiences.
